Anne Hartshorn founded Idlewild with a clear focus: to create landscapes people genuinely enjoy using every day. Not simply spaces that look beautiful, but environments that invite you outside—to gather, restore, celebrate, and make the most of home.
We believe the most meaningful landscapes begin with understanding the people who will live in them. How you gather. Where you retreat. What draws you outdoors. And how you want your landscape to feel as it grows and evolves over time.
